GIS is building on strong foundations in China

Global Inkjet Systems (GIS) is strengthening its presence in China with the appointment of a new engineer to lead engineering projects.

Gary Lee, joins GIS in October after 4 years with Xaar who themselves have ongoing focus in China.  This builds on GIS developments over the last 18 months with current partners and will accelerate the next wave of OEM and integrator projects.

Based in Guangdong, close to a dense cluster of inkjet printer manufacturers and component suppliers, Gary will support customer projects all over China, providing hands-on training, connecting customers’ and GIS’ R&D teams, smoothing and speeding integration.

'China remains a strategic priority for GIS,' said Gordon MacKay, GIS’ Business Development Manager. 'Our approach is measured, determined and long term; building capability and relationships.  With Gary on the ground, in the same time-zone, communicating in both languages, partners can expect fast response, deeper application support and more effective knowledge transfer. This can increase speed to market.'

China is already a growth market for GIS.  Always known for high quality drive electronics, the question for GIS in China has been about affordability.  GIS is determined to compete and Chinese-built equipment is clearly climbing the quality ladder, so GIS is in the right place at the right time.  Activity spans packaging, textiles, product decoration and ceramics, as well as many other specialised industrial applications.

In November, the GIS team is meeting customers across China, South Korea and Japan. GIS will be in Shanghai from 2 to 5 December 2025 for Labelexpo Asia at SNIEC. If you are developing a new system or re-engineering an existing platform, get in touch with GIS here.
