Biography
As the VP of Industrial Print Software & Solutions, Joan is responsible to expand HP’s business into SaaS models, drive the Artificial Intelligence strategy and develop and deployment the next generation of PrintOS solutions portfolio.
Joan is also keeping the role of VP Industrial Print Strategy and Sustainability, responsible of defining the vision, strategy, and transformation initiatives to accelerate growth, reduce the environmental footprint and increase the overall Industrial Print business growth and profitability.
Prior to this role, Joan has been the Graphics Solutions Global Head and General Manager, completing the acquisition of OFS (a workflow automation startup), developing a new SaaS business (Site Flow) and incubating new creator solutions.
Before that, Joan has been the Global Head and General Manager of the Large Format Production business, developing and scaling-up the HP Latex business for signage and decoration, and launching the HP Stitch business for textiles digital printing.
Joan joined HP in 1992 as a process engineer and since then has held various leadership positions in operations, supply chain, product strategy and global business management. While in operations and supply chain management, he has been responsible for the production start-up of the HP Deskjet in Barcelona -back in 1993- and the development of the Contract Manufacturing cluster in Eastern Europe achieving landed cost parity with Asia. Since his move into product strategy in 2001, he has been responsible of multiple product developments, the integration of the Scitex, NUR Macroprinters and ColorSpan portfolio after being acquired by HP, and the launch of the disruptive HP Latex technology at Drupa 2008, to become global market leaders and one of the growth and profit engines of HP Graphics business.
Married, with three kids, Joan holds a degree in mechanical engineering from The School of Industrial Engineering of Barcelona and an MBA from ESADE business school in Barcelona.
